Cardi and Meg looking at y’all not registered to vote 😅
politics+protests+pandemic:
first things first: we’re less than 90 days out from the general election. regarding VOTING, folks are not playing fair. so: everything you need to register to vote is right here. if you live in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Wisconsin, you are in a “swing” state — and if you want things to swing differently than they’ve swung over the last few years, you should check the deadlines for your state, register, and then vote.
Okay, deep breath: on to COVID stuff. Many, many of us are suffering from pandemic-related anxiety/mental health issues. How can we not, when we read stuff like this? And this. And if you are dealing with anxiety via Talkspace, you should truly read this. And then the law enforcement sh*t: if you can deal with the triggers rn, try to recall when Robert Fuller was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale, CA. Looks like the rumors about his personality were not true. And at the same time, people seem surprised there are “rogue” gangs of law enforcement officers, some in ‘secret societies,’ wreaking havoc on communities. Not to mention the tradition of lying by police that is finally coming to light.
👋🏽also this ⤵️is a must-read⬇️
I worry about making this sound romantic because it is not. Or at least, in that moment, I do not feel heroic or beautiful. Seeing my lover run from the police does not make me feel blacker than the day before. If anything, I am frozen by how easily the world is ready to dispose of my bones.
